Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL)
Equine Facilitated Learning encourages people to learn new life skills in a safe and supportive environment where self-confidence, assertiveness, balance and coordination grow alongside a feeling of true well-being.
A series of specially developed horse activities, including basic ground training and grooming skills, enable a person to experience the truth that strong emotions, such as fear, anger, frustration and sadness, have a direct effect on their body.
During an EFL session the very nature of a horse - its size, vitality and strength - calls a person into the present moment. Instead of worrying about tomorrow he or she can concentrate on the here and now and discover outdated patterns of behaviour and coping mechanisms which are stopping him or her from reaching their potential.
No previous horse experience is necessary - just bring a pair of sturdy boots and an open mind.
