What does Equus Too offer?
Ruth and her horses enjoy working on a one-to-one basis with clients of all ages or in small groups. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.
The first session, which introduces clients to equine facilitated learning using The Epona Approach, lasts for two hours. Subsequent sessions range from one to three hours.
Ruth also offers two-day and three-day intensives where clients are encouraged to explore EFL in more depth.
One-day, two-day and three-day workshops for up to eight people will be held on a quarterly basis subject to demand.

'Ruth Leighton is a very special horse woman. She is not only educated, gentle, sensitive and respectful regarding horses but with people as well. My Epona experience with Ruth was perfect in every way. I learnt a lot, which is always a good sign! If you are interested in the Epona way of interacting with horses then I highly recommend Ruth as the person to go to.'Margrit Coates

'I would like to thank you again for welcoming me so fully into your wonderful home, and for introducing me to both Epona and your super-chilled, brilliant horses. It was a truly inspirational few days; the very atmosphere at your house and stables, in conjunction with the work we did reaffirmed to myself certain things (love for countryside, close family, and the spiritual power of horses) and inspired utterly new ideas. So, thank you!'

'I work with teenagers with a range of special needs, we spent two 4 hour sessions with Ruth over a period of 2 weeks. Each session had incredible and surprising results. The horses mirrored the exact relationship issue that 2 of the young people were going through, it was amazing to observe the young people watch and then describe what was happening between the horses and then be able to relate it to their own problems, I had been trying for 3 years to help them understand this with little luck!
Another young man who was very much on the periphery of the group was able to explore his own fear issues not just with horses but also with the people in his life, this was the first time he had ever felt able to open up to others in the group.
I would thoroughly recommend EFL as a tool for self exploration and reflection and as an opportunity for play and spontaneity!'
